Does the picture not speak for itself? Miette is a pastry shop located in San Francisco but luckily for everyone outside The Golden City, you can also order these beautiful pastries online at www.miette.com. Miette is one of the top ten pasty shops in the world according to Conde Naste, and just looking at the pictures, I have to agree.

High Tea Service is an elegant and unique option for a bridal shower. Many hotels serve afternoon tea in a dramatized manner that will make you feel as if you stepped into a Jane Austen novel. In Memphis, the Peabody hotel offers a three course menu of sandwiches, pastries and scones complete with a glass of champagne and numerous tea choices. The Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC is one of many location options. The price for afternoon tea service seems to average around $35 regardless of the location.
While this may not be the lingerie bridal shower bash your college roommate wanted to throw for you, lots of fun still can be had. And if you keep getting Blair Waldorf instead of Serena van der Woodsen as an answer on that Facebook “Which Gossip Girl am I” quiz, then this is definitely for you.

“Crate digging” is a term in the hip hop world used frequently especially among hip hop aficionados. It describes the act of digging through the crates of a record store, searching for rarities and inspirations. A good day of crate digging will end with one leaving a record store with a load of albums wedged under their arm, a smile on their face and music playing in their head. Whatever is in the stack of albums they walk away with, they will be inspired by hearing the great ideas of great artists put together on wax.
I love music. All genres, even country…well I don’t do heavy metal, but that is neither here nor there. I also love weddings and everything about them from the practices of etiquette and the traditions to the swish of a gown as a bride turns in it for the first time. I read almost 100 blogs to keep up with wedding trends and customs and so that I can be educated and fluent in the language of weddings. I read these blogs to be inspired. Just like a hip hop head digging through crates in a mom and pop record store in Philadelphia, I am on the search for new ideas and aha moments. “I would never put that tone of peach with that gray, but wow it works.” This is why I have titled my posts that share great ideas and inspirations from blogs that I have read throughout the day or week, “blog digging.” So now you get it…
Take a moment and dig through my finds below. – TS

Derby Day Wedding Favors
(Little White Book)
Derby parties are a blast. I never turn down the opportunity to throw on a sun dress and a floppy hat and drink Mint Juleps with my friends. A Derby Day themed wedding, especially one that coincides with one of the big races, is a fun idea. Not only will your guests have fun dressing up for your wedding, but I’m sure they’ll enjoy the juleps too.

Red Velvet Cupcakes In a Jar
(Elizabeth Anne Weddings)
Cupcakes are hot right now. Dessert in a jar is hot right now. Why not put them together?

Peach and Gray Wedding
From Hello to Hitched
This is that peach and that gray. Usually I would think the colors are washed out, but this works for some reason. Maybe the tights sold it for me.

Modern Orange, White & Gray Color Palette
Style Me Pretty
When I saw this, I just stopped. This design is clean and modern and just plain stunning.

Bridesmaid Thank You Cards
Eat Drink Chic
While you and you s.o. are going through Crate & Barrel boxes making a list for a late night thank you card writing session, don’t forget to send a special thank you to your bridesmaids. These cards are perfect to send a shoutout to your wedding day wingmen. Even if they didn’t keep the dress you picked out for them, this thank you will stay with them as a reminder for better or worse.
